Darbin Wofford

Darbin serves as the Health Policy Advisor for Third Way’s Economic program. He focuses on advocating for policies that would expand coverage, reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients, and lower prices across the health care system.

Prior to Third Way, Darbin was the Senior Health Associate at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget where he authored several publications on lowering health care costs, sustaining Medicare’s finances, and reducing prescription drug prices. He also worked as a Health Policy Analyst with Prolegis as a contractor where he researched and wrote on issues such as prescription drug pricing, commercial health insurance, and competition in the health care market. Darbin also worked at Stateside Associates where he managed health care portfolios for industry clients and interned in the US House of Representatives for the House Appropriations Committee, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX), and Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX). He first gained interest in health policy during the House's debate on prescription drug price legislation in 2019.

Darbin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas State University with a minor in Economics. During his studies at Texas State, he was an intern in the Texas State Legislature. After college, he earned a Master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University. Darbin enjoys exploring DC’s restaurants, watching football, and hanging out with his dog, Loki.
