Emily Becker leads communications, public opinion research, and political messaging for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Team. She believes good comms can move the needle on important policy issues and effect change where it’s most needed and hardest to achieve.

Emily has worked in both chambers of Congress and came to Third Way after serving as Press Secretary for the office of Senator Peter Welch (D-VT). She previously served as Senator Welch’s Communications Director in the House of Representatives.

Before coming to Washington, Emily was a founding employee and Managing Editor at Pineapple Street Studios, a podcast production company in Brooklyn, NY.

Emily holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her partner Henry and their dog Birdy. Her favorite podcast is Who? Weekly.
