Hour-long conversations with his grandfather before he could really ride a bike began his love for politics and watching Barack Obama at the 2004 DNC as a 12-year-old sealed the deal. For as long as he can remember, Robert has been fascinated by policy and politics, and how, when done right, both can interact to improve the lives of everyday people.
As the current Social Policy & Politics Fellow for Third Way, Robert’s work addresses a variety of social policy issues, including immigration, guns, LGBT equality, and voting rights.
He earned a J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. At Northwestern, he was a member of the Journal on Law and Social Policy, the Black Law Students Association, and the Northwestern Law Democrats. He also served as a law clerk at the Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, and the civil rights firm Loevy & Loevy.
Outside of work, you can find him (hopefully) enjoying his Chicago sports teams, reading or listening to a podcast about movies, or spending time with his wife and dog.
