As the Deputy Director of the Economic Program Curran develops and advances a modern policy agenda for America’s toughest economic problems. She supports the team’s efforts to make progress on issues affecting working families and ensuring workers have pathways into high-quality jobs that provide high-quality benefits. She is passionate about helping women achieve economic security and opportunity and leads the organization’s analysis and advocacy on important policy issues including paid leave, child tax credit, and child care. Her analysis has been featured in the New York Times, Bloomberg, Axios, The Hill, and more.

After earning a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Economics at Johns Hopkins University, Curran worked in communications at Global Citizen, an organization committed to addressing the systemic causes of extreme poverty. There she saw firsthand the power of grassroots advocacy in galvanizing meaningful policy change at the highest levels. Interested in pursuing a career focused on supporting inclusive economic growth and mobility for all communities, she moved to Washington DC to attend graduate school at George Washington University where she received her M.A. in Public Policy.

Prior to joining Third Way, Curran supported the policy and research teams at the Economic Innovation Group and most recently was a fellow in USAID’s Global Health Bureau where she worked on policy issues at the intersection of health access, disease elimination, and economic development.

In her free time, Curran enjoys attending concerts, rooting for Philadelphia sports teams, and spending too much money on coffee.
