Being raised in a household that had political debates over every dinner, Ryan was conditioned to have a deep-rooted fascination with politics and policy.

Ryan currently serves as an Economic Policy Advisor for Third Way, where he has written on venture capital, human capital development, and the lesser-known effects of recessions. He previously worked as an editorial contributor for, where he wrote short articles on economic, political, and financial news. Ryan has also worked in the district office of Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Bonin.

Ryan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematical Finance from the University of Southern California. During his time there, he served as the president of a political advocacy group designed to register young voters and foster an interest among the student body in contemporary political issues.  Upon graduation, he immediately went on to pursue his Master’s in Economics from Boston University.

When not working, Ryan enjoys reading political and economic nonfiction to better inform his work at Third Way. But when he needs a little escape from developing his own human capital, Ryan enjoys watching football, playing the piano, going to museums, and discovering new restaurants.
