Ryan is the newest fellow for Third Way’s Economic Program. He is passionate about fostering inclusive economic opportunity in which all Americans can take part.

Ryan spent his undergraduate years at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he double-majored in mathematics and economics. It was here he learned to eat crawfish properly and to appreciate brass bands at all hours of the day.

While teaching in Tanzania with the Peace Corps, Ryan became deeply interested in economic development. He was inspired to pursue further education and, in 2017, graduated from Columbia University with an MA in economics.

Ryan finds work most fulfilling when he can see his efforts transform lives for the better, which is why he was so excited to join Third Way. In his free time, he enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. Originally hailing from Los Angeles, Ryan is constantly on the hunt for authentic Mexican food.
