Victoria Teufel
Victoria was born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, where her upbringing sparked a passion for community-driven change. She holds a B.A. in International Studies and Dance from West Virginia University, with a concentration in international development and regional focus on Africa and the Middle East. During her studies, she pursued a language concentration and lived in Jordan, deepening her interest in global development.
After earning her degrees, traveling to new places, and navigating a world changed by a pandemic, Victoria began her M.A. in International Development, specializing in Community Development and Social Innovation for Global Impact, at American University in Washington, D.C. As she continued throughout her graduate program, Victoria’s research interests began shifting closer to home. Growing up as a native West Virginian, she has witnessed the long-term impacts of the fossil fuel industry, fueling her passion for advocating and innovating to address old problems in new ways.
Before joining Third Way, Victoria worked at a consulting startup focused on energy efficiency for low-income populations in New Mexico. As the team’s Marketing and Community Engagement Specialist, she supported state-level contracts with New Mexico’s Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department. Victoria's research interests center on advocacy, innovation, and connecting with communities historically reliant on fossil fuels to ensure a sustainable and equitable future.
Victoria currently serves as the Performance Outreach Coordinator for the West Virginia Dance Education Organization, advocating for equal access to dance education for students K-12 throughout West Virginia.
Outside the office, Victoria is active at the gym, taking dance classes, traveling, cuddling her two cats, Mac and Mo, and rooting hard for WVU (and sometimes D.C.) sports.
