Romelo Wilson
Romelo’s journey toward education advocacy began in the classrooms of New York City, where he attended a mix of public, private, and charter schools. Growing up amidst stark disparities, he developed a deep passion for advocating for more equitable opportunities for students. These early experiences shaped his commitment to reforming a system that too often leaves some students behind. As the Education Communications Advisor, Romelo draws on his diverse background in journalism, nonprofit communications, and public policy to help advance meaningful policy reforms in higher education.
Before joining Third Way, Romelo developed his skills in communications across the nonprofit sector, where he supported organizations in crafting compelling messages, building reporter relationships, and amplifying advocacy efforts. Romelo earned a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Tampa, where he also studied journalism and Spanish. When he’s not working, you’ll find Romelo enjoying the outdoors with his English Bulldog, Roxie, or kicking back with a good horror movie.
