Tai was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, with a cultural background from Senegal and the Ivory Coast. She was raised speaking French and Mandingo (her native language), then had to take ESL classes to learn English as her third language. She likes to go back to the Ivory Coast to visit family.
Coming from a family of accountants and small business owners, Tai always gravitated toward mathematics and sciences as a student. Her particular interest in accounting stems partly from the fact that she enjoys solving both problems and puzzles. Tai attended Kean University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
In her previous accounting experience, Tai worked as a staff accountant in both private and public sectors. She joins Third Way with robust experience and an understanding of various accounting systems. In her spare time, she enjoys taking long walks, watching the latest documentaries, cooking, and spending time with family.
