Nathan Harnick
Nathan was born and raised in rural Indiana. From an early age, he was opinionated, once casting the only vote for Obama in his youth group’s mock presidential election. Growing up in a small midwestern community, he quickly learned the value of listening, asking questions, and seeking common ground with others. For Nathan, politics has never been about whether someone wears a red tie or a blue one; it’s always been about how we use policy as a tool to make a meaningful, positive impact in people’s lives. Nathan attended Purdue University, where he received his B.A. in Political Science, with minors in Human Rights and Global Studies. During his time in university, he developed a strong interest in U.S. foreign policy, specifically surrounding the Middle East and Asia. While at Purdue, he was the Communications and Outreach Director for his College Democrats club. In this role, he brought a focus on civic engagement: running voter drives, attending city council meetings, and leading protests. Outside of his professional life, Nathan and his friends spent weekends cooking and distributing free chili in their community, an experience that deepened his commitment to compassion-driven public policy. Nathan is an Executive Coordinator for Third Way’s communications team. In his free time, he enjoys reading any book he can get his hands on, thrifting for vintage clothing, or exploring the world by playing GeoGuessr.
