Policy Advisor, Technology Policy

Maya Schmidt

Raised in Steep Falls, Maine, Maya first became interested in technology policy during her time as a high school student at Baxter Academy for Technology and Science. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations with a regional specialization of Europe and a minor in Information Management & Technology. At Syracuse, Maya studied abroad in Strasbourg and interned at the Council of Europe. She then began pursuing her graduate degree in International Affairs at the Graduate Institute of Geneva (IHEID) before transferring to George Washington University's International Science and Technology Policy program. She later contributed to the Cyber Week in Review as an Intern in Digital and Cyberspace Policy for the Council on Foreign Relations. Maya now serves as the Technology Policy Advisor for Third Way, where she will be helping to develop a pro-innovation agenda. Outside of work, she enjoys gaming, roller skating, and rock climbing.
