Social Policy Fellow

Marla L. Guerra

Marla Guerra currently serves as the Social Policy Fellow at Third Way, where she supports a broad range of policy initiatives. She is originally native to a border community in South Texas, which profoundly shapes her commitment to immigration reform and continues to influence her approach to policymaking and advocacy. Marla earned her BA from Texas A&M University, and following graduation, worked as a Legislative Aide in the Texas House of Representatives during the 2023 legislative session. She went on to earn a master’s in public policy from The George Washington University, with a concentration in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Throughout her academic and professional journey, Marla pursued opportunities to deepen her engagement in the policy and advocacy space. She served as a congressional intern during a pivotal election season, and more recently, worked with the National Partnership for Women and Families, where she contributed to efforts focused on reproductive and maternal health policy. In her free time, Marla enjoys exploring the DMV area, practicing Pilates, and spending time on any activity that includes her dog, Bruno.
