Gabriel Sandler
Gabriel Sandler is a senior communications advisor for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Team. He aims to explain policy issues candidly and enthusiastically, believing that energy technology can solve a host of global challenges.
Gabriel most recently served as spokesperson for the Bureau of Energy Resources at the U.S. Department of State. He managed media relations and speechwriting related to global energy transition and energy security. He led his bureau’s adoption of new AI tools and trained staff on social media best practices and working with the press.
His background also includes positions at the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Transportation, as well as the Peace Corps in Madagascar. Gabriel taught English, fundraised for a rain harvesting social enterprise, and co-hosted an educational radio show.
Gabriel holds journalism degrees from Arizona State University’s Cronkite School. While born in Connecticut, he has lived in California, Oregon, and Arizona before moving to Washington D.C. In 2020. Outside of work, he enjoys running in Rock Creek Park, great breakfast burritos, movies at Atlantic Plumbing with his wife and friends, and reading any sci-fi book sent his way.
