Amea Thompson

Amea is the Mod Comms Senior Digital Media Advisor with Third Way’s Moderate Power Project. She is a passionate digital storyteller who enjoys using creative content to connect people with ideas and policies that shape their everyday lives. Prior to joining Third Way, she spent over a year on Capitol Hill as the Digital Director for Congresswoman Shontel Brown, where she grew the Congresswoman’s digital presence and built strategies to connect with constituents in the new media environment. She worked at the National Academy for State Health Policy as a Digital Media and Outreach Coordinator, collaborating with state and federal policymakers to communicate and provide technical assistance on health policy issues.

Amea earned her B.F.A. in Communications from Valdosta State University and her M.P.A. from Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service (Go Aggies!). Outside of work, she enjoys watching football and baseball, spending time with friends and family, and exploring Washington, D.C., from its historic landmarks to its vibrant food scene
