Ruth Whittaker
As the Director of Technology Policy at Third Way, Ruth Whittaker leads the effort to develop a pro-innovation agenda. She is focused on identifying policies that balance the tremendous transformative potential of new technologies with appropriate protections against harm and misuse. Before joining Third Way, Ruth advocated for policies at the state and federal level that aligned Democratic values and priorities with technological innovation at Chamber of Progress. Prior to that, she worked at the Department of Justice as a paralegal in the Antitrust Division. She began her career working for her hometown senator in the Illinois State Senate and at a voter mobilization firm in Washington, D.C. Although she graduated from Georgetown University and has lived in D.C. for more than 10 years, she has never abandoned Chicago sports. During football season, you'll find her cheering on her beloved Bears alongside her rescue dog, Enzo.
