Lily realized her passion for Democratic politics while a sophomore at a high school for performing arts. After organizing student protests against gun violence and knocking doors for a local race, she decided to switch gears and relinquished her Broadway dreams. Searching for a way to put her theatrical education to good use in the political arena, she discovered her niche in political communications; she learned she could seamlessly integrate advocating for the issues that mattered most to her—ending gun violence, eradicating antisemitism and hate, protecting women’s rights and freedoms, and strengthening public education—with her background in storytelling.

She followed that passion from her New Jersey hometown to the Chicago suburbs, where she received her B.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University (Go Cats!). There, she worked with the City of Evanston to implement a pilot participatory budgeting program to make government more accessible to Evanstonians, earning a Certificate in Civic Engagement. On campus, she was involved in Democratic politics and advocacy work, Jewish life, and the theatre and dance community. Prior to joining Third Way as the Press Advisor, Lily interned at the Democratic Party of Illinois, in the U.S. House of Representatives, and in the White House Speechwriting Office, as well as worked on Brad Schneider’s re-election campaign.

She most recently served as a Communications Associate on the Harris-Walz campaign, where she developed a love for press and media. Outside of work, Lily can be found experimenting with new recipes, searching for DC’s best bagel, and taking tap classes.
