Bill Schneider, Cole Mitchell, & Jessica Harris
The Inside Politics Newsletter is authored by revered political analyst and longtime CNN contributor, Bill Schneider. He provides monthly insights into the pols, polls, and issues that shape our political landscape.
September 2012 – In this month’s Inside Politics Newsletter Bill discusses why the President needs to be likeable and how he can use his personal popularity to help break the gridlock in Washington. President Obama has learned that he has to do more than get the policy right. He has said, “The nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism.” Polls show that, in this election, Obama is doing just that. In a recent CNN poll President Obama led Governor Romney 57% to 47% in favorable personal opinion amongst likely voters.
On p.3, Bill writes about what American’s think it means to be middle class and why having a secure job is the key. The infographic on p. 4 summarizes the most competitive Senate races.
