On November 18, 2025, the Joint Economic Committee held a hearing on Frontier Technologies, Industrial Efficiency, and Pro-Innovation Policies. Third Way's Director of Technology Policy, Ruth Whittaker, testified about ways the federal government can support the innovation ecosystem and the importance of frontier technologies for our economic competitiveness and long-term security. She recommended that Congress pursue three major policy priorities: helping small businesses take advantage of technological progress; supporting scientific discovery at universities and public research institutions; and building a workforce resilient enough to adapt to tech-related disruptions.
