Statement of Third Way EVP Jim Kessler responding to Senator Bernie Sanders’ attack on Third Way’s recent poll

WASHINGTON — Third Way released the following statement from Executive Vice President Jim Kessler responding to Senator Bernie Sanders’ attack on Third Way’s recent poll:

“As usual, Senator Sanders doesn’t like bad news regarding his signature idea.

“Our poll found what virtually every other public poll has: when people hear the details about Medicare for All, they don’t like it. Kaiser Family Foundation, the gold standard for health care polling, also found that Democrats prefer building on the ACA over Medicare for All by double-digits.

“Our poll showed that Donald Trump is 30 points underwater on health care. But Medicare for All would be a political lifeline for the worst president in American history.

“We’ve been warning about this for three years, citing data from a dozen polls. The problem is not the pollster, Senator; the problem is “the damn bill.”
