Third Way supports H.R. 1880 because it will help forestall future financial crises by creating a national system of insurance regulation that remedies gaps in the present state-based system of insurance regulation, proposing mechanisms that recognize the need for monitoring the insurance sector for systemic threats to the economy, and implementing uniform national consumer protections.
