Opportunity 2020

Democrats need a message and an agenda that can unite the broadest possible coalition to defeat Donald Trump in 2020 and rebuild progressive majorities at every level. A wave of new mainstream candidates elected in 2018 showed the blueprint for victory in 2020. The path to power wasn't built on a Sanders-style agenda.

Instead, the 40 Democrats who flipped seats to win back the House and moderate Democratic governors who won Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin by 1.3 million votes showed how to rebuild the blue wall: moderate candidates who reflect the diversity of their community and run on modern, mainstream ideas focused on delivering the opportunity to earn a good life for their neighbors.
