How the College Affordability Act Could Help More Students Climb Towards Success

The Higher Education Act (HEA) is the law governing federal involvement in our higher education system. The problem is—it hasn’t been updated in over a decade. Issues abound with accountability, transparency, consumer protections, and accreditation, and federal legislation sorely needs a reboot. The College Affordability Act, the House-proposed reboot of HEA, offers solutions to some of these pitfalls and takes a big step towards making sure we provide the supports students need to successfully complete college today.
