The last few months have been difficult. We were coming to terms with COVID-19, which has decimated communities of color. Now, our communities are reminded, once again, that we do not have equal justice under law in this country. The murder of George Floyd is only the latest in a long and terrible history of police brutality and racial inequality.

As Third Way President Jon Cowan said in his statement on the racial justice crisis, “We are inspired by the commitment of those protesting and demanding real change to the justice system. We are hopeful for a better future and for lasting change, and we are fully committed to doing our part to create it.”

Third Way Senior Fellow Akunna Cook hosted a discussion with Mitch Landrieu, former Mayor of New Orleans and CEO of E Pluribus Unum, and Wes Moore, CEO of Robinhood on expanding opportunity in communities of color, and policy proposals for the path forward.
