Majority Makers: How Democrats Take Back the House
Third Way's Senior Political Analyst Ryan Pougiales shares a new framework for looking at swing districts—which we call Majority Makers—that will determine the balance of power in the House. Right now, Republicans are dominating Majority Maker districts, holding 41 out of 65 seats. To win back the House, Democrats need to win back seats in each of the four categories of districts (and defend the seats they already hold!):
- Thriving Suburban Communities;
- Left Behind Areas;
- Diverse, Fast-Growing Regions; and
- Non-Conformist Districts.
Ryan and Lanae Erickson Hatalsky break down Democrats' broad path back to power in their recent memo, How to Build a House [Majority].
