Last week, we published a memo highlighting the most politically salient points of Trump’s first 100 days for voters. In that, we identified two key areas of chaos: financial and government. Democrats have an opportunity to turn his prior strength on the economy into a liability. Ask your constituents: Are they better off today than 100 days ago?
Financial Chaos is skyrocketing prices. Trump has brought chaos to the economy by driving it straight into the Trump Slump. Prices are up, 401ks and savings are down, and families living paycheck-to-paycheck will bear the burden. Trump’s tariffs aren’t a tax on foreign countries, they're a chaos agent for American family budgets.

Government Chaos is putting your safety at risk. Trump and Musk are creating chaos for veterans, chaos in medical research, and chaos from attacks on Social Security and health care. With Trump’s support, Musk has brought chaos to basic privacy protections by combing through Americans’ personal data. And Trump’s chaotic mass deportation violates due process and is dangerous for law-abiding migrants and legal residents.
Congress is not helpless. Trump abused his executive power to impose these reckless tariffs that are driving up costs. Democrats are standing up for American families by reasserting their constitutional authority over trade and sponsoring legislation to stop Trump’s tariffs. Republicans can either join us, or own the Trump Slump and the massive price increases Trump is causing.
