Third Way Senior Vice President for Clean Energy Josh Freed released the following statement on the United Steelworkers and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers drive to organize production and maintenance workers at Tesla’s solar factory in Buffalo, New York:

“The energy industry in the United States is undergoing an absolutely vital transformation as we move to 100% clean energy sources like renewables, nuclear power, and carbon capture. As we replace emitting sources with clean ones, the transition away from heavily-unionized fossil fuel industries should lead to unionized clean energy jobs. This is the path to create new, vibrant companies and provide new, well-paying and skilled jobs for American workers in a sector that has traditionally been heavily unionized. That is why we support the efforts to organize the Tesla solar manufacturing plant in Buffalo.”
