Abortion on the Ballot
In June 2022, the Supreme Court released its landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, declaring states have the right to govern a woman’s bodily autonomy. The result was an overnight ban on reproductive freedom, marking the first time in our nation’s history that a fundamental right was retracted by the High Court after it was considered settled law. Today, women and girls across the country have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers did, turning back the clock to a period when women were regarded as property and not free-thinking members of society. But all is not lost, and the power to make change lies where it always has: within our democracy. This midterm election, in every race, in every state, abortion is on the ballot. We have compiled this series of resources, so every voter has the tools to make the most informed choice when they step into the polling booth on November 8, 2022.
