Third Way’s Statement on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s 100 by 2050 Plan

WASHINGTON — Third Way released the following statement from Josh Freed, Senior Vice President of Third Way’s Climate and Energy Program:

“The United States needs to get on track to the fastest, fairest path to zero carbon pollution by 2050 at the absolute latest. The House Energy and Commerce Committee’s 100 by 2050 draft plan would re-establish the United States as an international leader on climate and put us on the path to eliminate climate pollution. It is the kind of serious, ambitious, and pragmatic agenda that is too often missing these days with Donald Trump in the White House and a Republican-controlled Senate.”

“We’re particularly excited by the Committee’s inclusion of clear performance standards to cut carbon in the power and transportation sectors, and its embrace of every zero-carbon technology that can help us get to net-zero by 2050.”
