Third Way Statement on Vice President Harris’ Small Business Agenda
WASHINGTON—Third Way released the following statement from Gabriel Horwitz, Senior Vice President for the Economic Program:
“It’s official: Vice President Kamala Harris is the small business candidate in this race.
“More businesses started under the Biden-Harris Administration than under Donald Trump, and the Vice President’s Opportunity Economy platform shows that entrepreneurship will continue to play a central role in the economic growth of this country. Her goal for new business applications is the big, forward-looking vision this country needs. The Vice President’s plans to inject more capital into the entrepreneurship system, increase the amount of federal contracts that go to small businesses, and streamline bureaucracy and cut red tape means that more businesses will not only start here but expand here. And her continued focus on fiscal responsibility and paying for her proposals show that Democrats want to grow the economy in a sustainable way.
“Entrepreneurship has always been a key part of the American Dream. Business ownership creates jobs for people in their community and provides the dignity of being able to work for oneself. It’s wonderful to see the commitment Vice President Harris has to helping entrepreneurs start and scale ventures across this country.”
