Third Way Statement on the Senate Introduction of the Student Protection and Success Act

Today Lanae Erickson Hatalsky, Director of Social Policy & Politics, issued the following statement upon the Senate introduction of the Student Protection and Success Act by Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT):

“The time has come for a new national conversation on how to significantly increase the quality of college education while lowering the actual cost. Senators Shaheen and Hatch have shown tremendous leadership on that issue with their legislation to restore accountability to our higher education system, protect our most vulnerable students, and ensure taxpayer dollars go to institutions that deserve it.”
