Statement from Third Way's Jim Kessler on Senator Schumer's Gun Record

Third Way's Senior Vice President for Policy and a former senior staffer for Senator Charles Schumer Jim Kessler issued the following statement:

"There would be no Brady Law without Senator Chuck Schumer’s passionate support or strategic brilliance when he steered it through Congress in 1993. Along with the assault weapons ban, Senator Schumer not only took on the NRA but a skeptical and reluctant Democratic Congress. When the moment arrives and an expanded background check bill lands on the desk of some future President, Senator Schumer’s fingerprints will be all over it.”
