The American Rescue Plan will help defeat the pandemic and give Americans a chance to survive the COVID-induced economic crisis. This historic relief package, however, is only a first step. Policymakers are now focusing on ensuring the recovery can spur good jobs and opportunities for every region and population and do it in a way that speeds up the transition to clean energy.

On March 25th, 2021, Third Way held a digital event with a panel of experts from the Biden Administration, labor unions, and advocacy organizations discussing the possible paths forward, and potential challenges facing jobs, justice, and a clean energy-oriented economic recovery plan.

  • Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM)
  • Josh Freed, Senior Vice President for the Climate and Energy Program, Third Way
  • Shalanda Baker, Deputy Director for Energy Justice, U.S. Department of Energy
  • Heidi Binko, Executive Director and Co-Founder, Just Transition Fund
