For 55 years, Black organizers, activists, strategists, and allies have been fighting to realize the promise of the Voting Rights Act in the face of racism and voter suppression. On the 55th anniversary of the #VRA, Third Way’s Akunna Cook hosts a conversation on efforts to engage Black voters ahead of November’s elections. The virtual panel includes LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter Fund, Justin Myers, Executive Director of For Our Future Fund, and Terrance Woodbury, Pollster and Partner at Hit Strategies. They spoke about what the panelists are hearing from Black voters, the strategies to counter voter suppression under pandemic conditions, and the best ways to engage Black voters ahead of November and beyond.
