Since 2007, the City University of New York’s Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) has provided students with extensive support to ensure they can complete their associate degrees. The program has become the gold standard when it comes to college completion and retention initiatives; and because of its success, is now being replicated across the country.

Third Way’s Michelle Dimino (Deputy Director of Education) was joined by Alyssa Ratledge (Higher Education Research Associate, MDRC) to discuss the results of a new six-year follow-up study of an ASAP replication program at three community colleges in Ohio. Alyssa dove into the results of the study, sharing its structure, outcomes, and takeaways. Alyssa and Michelle chatted through how these programs differed from CUNY ASAP and what considerations institutions need to make when considering similar replication endeavors.
