“Harry Reid lived the American Dream, and he devoted his life to ensuring that millions of others could live it too. Though he gained enormous power, he never forgot that he had come from poverty and was there for the powerless. Through the many deals he cut in Congress, he never stopped fighting for people like his mom, a laundress struggling to make ends meet for her family in Searchlight, Nevada.

“We were privileged to work with Senator Reid on the Affordable Care Act, the Dodd-Frank bill, and others of his many legislative achievements. His legacy is nearly as remarkable as his biography. He made this nation stronger and the world a better place. We will miss him.”
