Third Way Statement of Support on PROVE IT Act

WASHINGTON—Third Way released the following statement from Senior Director for Domestic Policy Ryan Fitzpatrick in support of Representatives John Curtis (R-UT) and Scott Peters (D-CA) introducing the Providing Reliable, Objective, Verifiable Emissions Intensity and Transparency (PROVE IT) Act.

“The PROVE IT Act would result in the first comprehensive, apples-to-apples comparison of the emissions intensities of certain US and foreign products such as steel, cement, biofuels, and hydrogen. This transparency will help us know where to target support that will help domestic industries decarbonize.

It will also ensure the overall competitiveness of American products, while allowing the US to hold foreign manufacturers accountable for dirtier processes.”
