Third Way Statement of Support of New Democrat Coalition Health Care Framework
WASHINGTON—Third Way issued the following statement from Darbin Wofford, Deputy Director of Health Care:
“While Republicans increase health care costs, put medical providers out of business, and explode the national debt, moderate Democrats are leading the way and staying laser focused on making health care affordable for everyone. That’s why Third Way applauds the New Democrat Coalition and Chairman Brad Schneider (D-IL) for releasing their Health Care Framework filled with policies to make health care more affordable and ensure adequate access to care.
“The New Democrat Coalition Health Care Framework includes six essential pillars for strengthening America’s health care system: lowering costs for working families, closing coverage gaps and expanding access to care, protecting and securing American health care, protecting women’s health, encouraging research and innovation, and combating misinformation and strengthening public health. Each of these are fundamental for a long-term vision on health care.
“Notably, the Framework shows how to make health care more affordable and secure for everyone, including lowering costs for people with work-based coverage.
