Third Way Congratulates Jim Himes, Newly Elected Chairperson of the New Democratic Coalition

Third Way Senior Vice President for Policy Jim Kessler issued the following statement:

“Congressman Jim Himes is a great friend and a modern Democrat who cares about growth, economic opportunity and building an America where everyone has a shot at the brass ring if they put in a good effort. He brings intelligence, creativity, political smarts, and an indefatigable work ethic to this important post. We look forward to working closely with Rep. Himes and all of the New Dems in the next Congress.

“He replaces Congressman Ron Kind who could not have been a better friend and ally to Third Way. We were honored to be among those he invited to New Dem retreats and caucus lunches for briefings and presentations. The relationship between Third Way and the New Democrats only deepened under Rep. Kind. We are eager to work with him and seek his guidance as New Dem Chair emeritus. Congratulations on a great tenure at the top.”
