Sarah McCammon joins Third Way as Senior Fellow
WASHINGTON - Third Way is pleased to announce that journalist Sarah McCammon is joining the organization as a Senior Fellow, adding a fresh voice to the organization's Moderate Power Project (MPP), the largest new center-left effort to bolster moderates begun since the 2024 election.
“As we build the first-ever megaphone for moderates, we are excited to welcome Sarah McCammon to the team. She brings a dynamic, trusted voice with deep expertise on the terrain and the issues and values that resonate with the American middle, which are essential to forging a mainstream majority. Her talent and perspective will be a huge asset to the Moderate Power Project as we challenge the extremes and strengthen the political center,” Third Way president Jon Cowan said.
McCammon served most recently at NPR as a national political correspondent and host of the NPR Politics Podcast, where she reported on presidential campaigns, the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, and the intersection of politics and religion. She is a sought-after speaker and the author of The Exvangelicals, a 2024 New York Times bestseller. Her journalism has been recognized with numerous national honors, including a 2023 Edward R. Murrow Award for reporting on reproductive rights.
“I’m delighted to join Third Way at a pivotal moment and to be part of vital conversations about how to move the country forward,” McCammon said. “After spending many years talking with Americans across the political spectrum, I know there’s a deep hunger for pragmatic, solutions-oriented leadership.”
