Apprenticeship America is a proposal to radically increase official apprenticeship completions from 50,000 to 1 million per year. At its core is the creation of a national network of flagship Apprenticeship Institutes in every state. Each institute will create new apprenticeships by working with and functioning as a hub for employers, workers, high schools, community colleges, and unions. With access to the subsidized Federal Apprenticeship Loan, small- and medium-sized employers can leverage the 50-state institute system to train and hire more apprentices.
