  • Recently, the Biden Administration released a comprehensive roadmap to dramatically scale up the domestic production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). Air travel accounts for approximately three percent of all US emissions and will be one of the most difficult sectors to decarbonize, but with the right investments in SAF, we can put the US on track to achieve net-zero aviation emissions by mid-century. In the process, we can position the United States as a global leader in the emerging SAF market.

Josh Freed, Senior Vice President for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Program opened an event that featured Annie Petsonk, Assistant Secretary for Aviation & International Affairs, United States Department of Transportation, Lindsay Fitzgerald, Vice President of Government Relations, Gevo, Inc, Cherie Wilson Vice President, Government Affairs – Sustainability, Delta Air Lines and John Hebert, Policy Advisor for Transportation, Third Way to discuss this critical climate and clean energy issue.
