  • Join Third Way for a conversation with Brookings Institute Senior Fellow Isabell Sawhill on her latest book, “The Forgotten Americans: An Economic Agenda for a Divided Nation.”

The deep economic hardships Americans have experienced over the last decade have led to an overall disillusionment in American institutions. Now leaders at every level must attempt to heal Americans’ financial, cultural, and political wounds. Sawhill marks the path forward in her book with a policy agenda centered on family, education, and work for all Americans. While many have lost faith in government programs designed to help them, there are still some trusted institutions on local and federal levels that can deliver better job opportunities and higher wages to those who have been left behind. The private sector, she argues, has a part to play, too. This book weaves together a clear-headed path forward so personal responsibility and shared growth are once again the norm for Americans far and wide.

Complimentary copies of her book will be given to the first dozen people in the door. A light breakfast will be served.
