Zach Moller, at his core, loves well-researched and thoughtful economic policy. Whether that means designing new ways to help working and middle class families have more opportunities, crunching numbers in Microsoft Excel, or talking to media and policymakers, Zach is in his element on anything econ-related.
As the Director of Third Way’s Economic Program, Zach helps oversee a team that specializes in developing innovative policy.
Prior to joining Third Way, Zach spent over seven years developing economic and budget issue area expertise. In his three years at the Senate Budget Committee, he worked on economic and revenue issues under Chairs Patty Murray and Kent Conrad. Next, Zach deepened his budget expertise as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. While at CRFB, Zach led work on budget process reform and was a specialist in data and charts. His work has been featured in the New York Times, the Economist, the Financial Times, and MSNBC.
Zach earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Florida and he is a diehard fan of the Florida Gators. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. Now he lives in Old Town Alexandria with his wife.
