Underappreciated: Dodd-Frank & The Pursuit of Financial Stability
In 2010, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act to prevent another financial crisis. But the law remains one of the most important yet least understood laws passed in recent decades. It is rarely talked about by those who supported it and is routinely criticized by those who opposed it. Senate Republicans plan to hold hearings on Dodd-Frank in the new Congress and may try to rewrite parts of it.
Third Way was joined by special guest Senator Chris Dodd to discuss and demystify the most sweeping Wall Street reform law enacted in 75 years. Third Way also released a new report, Demystifying Dodd-Frank, that explains in plain English the 12 most significant reforms in the law.
