For many Americans, the care they want at the end of their life is not the care they get. Many want to pass away at home but, instead, are in a hospital. Others are worried about not getting all the care they need.
To bridge the divide between people’s wishes and their care at the end of life, Third Way & the Council for Affordable Health Coverage hosted a workshop for hill staff to discuss policy tools and communications strategies for this sensitive topic.
Below, you will find the presentation from PEW and CTAC. Featured presenters Dr. Josh Rising, Director of Health Care Programs, The Pew Charitable Trusts and Jon Broyles, Executive Director, Coalition to Transform Advanced Care addressed why there is a problem with end-of-life care currently, why now is the time to address the issue, and discussed ways members of Congress can talk about and frame this important policy topic.
