Though Susan has lived and worked in the Washington area for more than a decade, she remains a Midwesterner at heart. Originally from Chicago, Susan graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Theater. Her passion for the arts led her on the unlikely path of non-profit administration as one of her first jobs out of school was working for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. She has since worked in various non-profit and non-governmental organizations both in the U.S. and Cambodia.
Prior to joining Third Way, Susan worked at the National Alliance to End Homelessness where, in addition to duties as a bookkeeper, she managed registration for two annual national conferences and developed administrative and financial systems for the organization.
Susan lives in Maryland with her three children and, in her spare time, enjoys discussing the importance of horror films in cultural history with anyone willing to participate in such a discussion.
