Third Way Welcomes White House National Cybersecurity Strategy

WASHINGTON — Third Way released the following statement from Valerie Shen, Vice President for National Security:

"Today, the White House released its long-anticipated National Cybersecurity Strategy. This strategy document builds upon over two years of substantive steps taken by the Biden administration to strengthen American national security in cyberspace. It moves beyond the idealized paradigm of achieving cybersecurity purely by vanquishing criminal and rival state actors, instead setting our sights on the more realistic roles that markets and governments can play today to defend Americans and the national interest.

"Third Way’s bipartisan Cyber Enforcement Initiative is dedicated to developing and implementing a comprehensive enforcement strategy to defend against and punish malicious cyber actors worldwide.

"We welcome the publication of the White House’s National Cybersecurity Strategy and expect dividends from the whole-of-state approach it takes to strengthen our security in both the short- and long-term. Coupled with the extraordinary and extensive talent this administration has devoted to the National Security Council, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and military and law enforcement agencies, we expect the country to continue making meaningful and sustainable progress toward a securer future in the cyber domain."
