Clare has always loved storytelling and appreciated art that can speak for itself. Through design and illustration, she works to help tell visual stories that educate, impact, and move people. As the Multimedia Designer at Third Way, Clare takes Third Way's capacity to influence to another level. Beyond developing, creating, and maintaining marketing and communications materials on an organization-wide basis, she works with policy staff to visually explain complex issues like climate change, immigration, and education. The breadth of her work includes publications, websites, videos, infographics, presentations, and event signage. Clare also collaborates routinely with outside vendors on the production and distribution of products across multiple mediums.
Prior to joining Third Way, Clare gained experience solidifying and elevating a brand through the creation of an interactive book on company culture for Streetsense, a strategy and design firm. She helped design and execute politically persuasive mailers with the The Pivot Group during the 2008 election cycle—which culminated in President Obama’s win. Clare also has taught groups of all sizes, ages, and skill levels how to paint in the encouraging, creative, and fun environment of Muse Paintbar.
Clare is a proud Terp, having earned her B.A. in Fine Art with a Concentration in Graphic Design from the University of Maryland, College Park. During her time there, she was also a Design and Innovation in Marketing Fellow, a member of the Honors College, a Creative and Performing Arts Scholar, a Clarvit Design Scholar, and a scenic artist for theater productions at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
