From the Capitol of Mississippi, Meco Shoulders is a guardian of profound ideas. His curiosity for innovation came early in life, announcing itself through his love for music— specifically percussion. He lives by Dr. Wayne Dyer’s quote: “See yourself as surrounded by the things you wish to produce.”

During college, Meco became a founding member of Trensek, Inc., a technology company specializing in mobile application development in his hometown of Jackson, MS. When the opportunity for a career in policy arose, Meco moved his talents to Washington, D.C. where he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for Representative Bennie Thompson (D-MS). While on Capitol Hill, he developed an adept knowledge in several policy areas, including small business, banking, and finance. Joining Third Way as an Economic Policy Advisor, Meco will influence and advance policy that will benefit women and minority owned small businesses.

Meco is a proud College of Business graduate from THEE Jackson State University where he received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development. He wants to be remembered for creating paths for aspiring leaders to follow. In his spare time, Meco plays the drums at church, records in the studio, and provides institutions with marching snare drum material. He also enjoys visiting the driving range to grant him peace of mind.
