Jillian McGrath is a Policy Advisor for Third Way’s Economic Program, where she researches a wide swath of issues most pressing to the economic security and stability of American families.
Prior to joining Third Way, Jillian worked as a Research Analyst for Insight Policy Research where she performed qualitative and quantitative analysis on food assistance and family support programs such as SNAP, TANF, and WIC. She conducted detailed outcomes analysis using both Census and SNAP administrative data, and worked with state program administrators to promote best practices.
Jillian holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics as well as a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Maryland. She grew up north of Philadelphia in a town that, in almost allegorical fashion, recently converted their shuttered steel mill into a concert venue. She enjoys seeing her favorite artists (John Mayer, Tame Impala, Maggie Rogers) both backdropped by American manufacturing decline and not.
